On November 30, 2024, Erwin Health Care Center proudly participated in the annual Erwin Christmas Parade, spreading holiday cheer with a festive float and warm smiles. Staff and residents enjoyed connecting with the community in this beloved tradition.

At Erwin Health Care Center, we’re proud to serve the rural communities that are the heart of our region. Rural areas often experience barriers to healthcare, such as fewer providers, limited transportation, and restricted access to specialized care. Yet, these communities are also defined by their resilience, close-knit support systems, and resourceful approaches to overcoming these obstacles.
November marks a special time of year when we pause to recognize and uplift the unsung heroes among us—family caregivers. National Family Caregivers Month is an opportunity to raise awareness, celebrate, and show support for those who dedicate their time and love to caring for family members.
Family caregivers are vital in providing support and maintaining the well-being of loved ones facing illness, aging, or disability. These caregivers embody selflessness and commitment. Yet, the journey of caregiving often comes with challenges: physical strain, emotional fatigue, and feelings of isolation. Recognizing and appreciating these efforts is crucial, not just for the caregivers themselves but for society as a whole.
Erwin Health Care Center and its residents are safe and unharmed. We recognize the extent of the devastation in the area and feel truly blessed not to have been directly affected. Our thoughts and prayers now turn to our staff members and the broader community as they work to rebuild their homes, businesses, and lives.

At Erwin Health Care Center, we believe in creating opportunities for our residents to relive cherished memories and enjoy special moments together. Recently, we hosted a fantastic classic car show in our parking lot, featuring a stunning collection of vintage automobiles from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. The event was a wonderful chance for our residents to take a trip down memory lane, admire the sleek lines and vibrant colors of the cars, and reminisce about the days when they cruised around in their own beloved vehicles.
At Erwin Health Care Center, we celebrated National Dog Day in the best way possible—by welcoming River, a gentle and loving Goldendoodle, for a special pet therapy session. River’s visit brought joy and comfort to our residents, offering warm cuddles and lots of wagging tails.
Pet therapy is a wonderful way to boost mood, reduce stress, and provide companionship, especially for our seniors. River’s affectionate nature and playful spirit lit up the room, creating heartwarming moments that we were thrilled to capture in photos.
