Today, August 21, we proudly celebrate National Senior Citizens Day, a time to honor the achievements, wisdom, and contributions of older adults across our nation. At Erwin Health Care Center, we’re excited to celebrate National CNA Week from June 12-18, 2025, honoring the incredible certified nursing assistants who are the heart of our facility. This year’s theme, “We Are the Champions,” perfectly captures the dedication and compassion our CNAs bring to their work every day. They provide essential care, ensure patient comfort, and maintain a safe environment, all while being the compassionate faces our patients rely on during their most vulnerable moments. We’re proud to recognize their tireless efforts in delivering high-quality care and making a lasting impact on our community.
June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Health Awareness Month, a vital time to shine a light on Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, which impact over 55 million people worldwide. Designated as a month for education, discussion, and action, it addresses the growing global challenge of these conditions, marked by the official color purple. This month encourages everyone to learn more about the signs and risk factors, advocate for research, and recognize the importance of support for those affected and their caregivers. It’s a call to raise awareness about the public health impact and foster a compassionate community response.
